10 Unspoken Backstage Rules During a Show

Can we all just agree, these are among the most important rules to follow backstage?
Rule # 1 – Hands off other people’s props.
Rule # 2 – No talking backstage.
Rule #3 – No making out with your co-stars. (Save it for the cast party.)
Rule #4 – If you can see the audience…
And on a related note …
Rule # 5 – No peeking through the curtain.
Rule # 6 – Pay attention…and don’t get distracted.
Rule # 7 – Never say MacBe–
Or else:
Rule # 8 – No eating in costume.
Rule # 9 – When costumes, props, and actors are moving backstage…Get. Out. Of. The. Way.
Rule #10 – The Stage Manager is God.
